Diva Charity kindly hosts an annual Toy Drive for CaringKids, collecting donations in person, and online via the Diva Charity Simply Giving Toy Drive. This year Wenona School students and families joined the Toy Drive, generously donating toys and gifts to fill Joy Boxes. It was wonderful to have the students visit the workshop to deliver the toys and for them to see first-hand the impact that their donations will make to help young carers feel cared for and appreciated.
Christina Iskandar, founder of Diva Charity welcomed Wenona students and teachers to the CaringKids Toy Workshop. As everyone unloaded gifts from the van, Margaret Skagias, CEO of CaringKids answered questions regarding young carers and how CaringKids Joy Boxes are created and distributed.
Our Toy Workshop was filled to the brim! The gifts that were all so thoughtfully chosen by Wenona students included toys, games, plush toys, sports equipment, stationery, books and gifts for children and teenagers. The students received a Certificate of Appreciation for all the joy they will bring young carers.
With the help of our shipping and logistics partner SEKO, the donated gifts were delivered to the doorstep of young carers.
