Volunteering with CaringKids

CaringKids is a registered charity that recognises the role of young carers and works to reduce their feelings of loneliness and social isolation, by sending them Toy Boxes, we like to call Joy Boxes, packed with toys, games, stationery and books.

Our Vision is a world where play time is recognised as an essential need for young carers, enabling them to grow into healthy, resilient and compassionate adults.

We are registered with Centrelink for volunteering activities.

All volunteers must have a valid Working with Children Check.

Get involved

We are not joking when we say those Joy Boxes don’t pack themselves. So we’re always looking for volunteers aged over 18 who can spare some time to come and help sort and pack toys into boxes with us.

If you’d like to volunteer, don’t be shy, ‘Apply Now‘ and let’s get you involved.

The Roles

We are looking for:

The Grants & Philanthropy Manager also supervises and mentors the Grant Research Assistant (Volunteer), ensuring high-quality research, strong alignment with organisational priorities, and a coordinated approach to funding opportunities.

This position requires strategic thinking, excellent writing skills, strong relationship management, and the ability to translate CaringKids’ mission and impact into compelling, evidence based proposals.

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing, fundraising, or philanthropy within the not for profit sector.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to articulate impact clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong research, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
