Third Sector Awards
I wanted to send you my heartfelt gratitude and thank you for voting for me to become the Third Sector ‘Volunteer of the Year’ Award.
As you know, I was nominated as one of 5 finalists for this prestigious award, which is such a great honour and privilege. It is wonderful to be recognised as a volunteer and to be nominated for such an award.
Even though I was not the winner of this award, I feel proud to be an award finalist and to be recognised for volunteering with CaringKids.
This achievement is not mine alone, as it takes a team of volunteers working together to make a difference. I want to recognise all our volunteer team for all their efforts and dedication. I also congratulate the Volunteer of the Year Award Winner, Geoff Nyssen, Snowdome Foundation, and award finalists Shazia Mia, Settlement Services International (SSI), Joe Schembri, Roundabout Canberra and Max Sommer, Dignity for their achievements making a difference to the lives of others in their respective charities.
My journey with CaringKids was and still is an amazing one. I started volunteering 7 years ago when we launched the charity and have seen CaringKids grow to support many young carers. I feel very proud of what we have achieved. To be able to put a smile on a young carer’s face when they receive our ‘Joy Box‘ is the greatest reward. It’s also so important to me that we can shed a light on young carers and their experiences.
Thank you to all my fellow volunteers, the CaringKids Board, and all our amazing supporters out there for making all this magic happen.
I am looking forward to many more years of volunteering with CaringKids and supporting CaringKids to go from strength to strength!
THANK YOU
Sabine
Can you spare a couple of hours a week to volunteer at our toy workshop in Banksmeadow? We are seeking toy workshop volunteers who are young at heart, love toys, enjoy helping others and like working with others. We have on-site parking, tea & coffee and plenty of fun!
