Lions in Support of CaringKids Charity Project Awards
The Lions CaringKids Recognition Awards are a heartfelt tribute to Lions, Leos and community members alike who have shown exceptional kindness towards those in need, including young carers.
Young carers are children who selflessly care for family members living with disabilities or chronic illnesses. The funds raised through this initiative play a vital role in providing Joy Boxes – special packages filled with toys, games, books and school stationery that are designed to bring comfort and happiness to these extraordinary children.
Barry J Palmer AO ‘Kindness Matters’ Recognition Award
Australian Past International President Barry J Palmer AO (2013-2014) whose motto was “Follow your Dream” is a supporter of the Lions CaringKids Project. His leadership journey has seen him serve as District Governor for District 201N5 (1996/1997) and as International Director (2000-2002). A proud Lions member since 1976, Barry remains committed to the values of kindness and making a meaningful difference to the lives of young carers.
