For Young Carers
CaringKids’ Joy Maker Workshops are a hands-on program at our Sydney Toy Workshop, where young carers aged 8 to 12 years, or 13 to 18 years, come together to build peer connection while creating Joy Boxes for other young carers across Australia. Young carers experience social isolation and financial hardship, and they are also young people in our community who often miss out on everyday social experiences that support wellbeing.
The workshop creates small, meaningful moments of connection that ease loneliness and offer the opportunity to meet and interact with new peers in a supportive environment. The act of making Joy Boxes extends that connection outward, showing participants that their actions can lift another young carer’s wellbeing too.
For Community and Corporates
Joy Maker Workshops bring community groups and corporate teams together to pack Joy Boxes filled with toys, games, books, and school essentials for young carers across Australia. Sessions are held at our Sydney workshop, and are ideal for team building, CSR and ESG initiatives, or community group involvement.
There is a cost for corporate groups to cover administration, preparation, and lunch. Maximum participant group size is 15 persons.
