Lions International President Visits CaringKids Toy Workshop
Lions International President A.P. Singh and Past International Director Sangeeta Jaita together with District Governor Mohan Nanayakkar and Dr Mohishi, PDG Elvio Munzone OAM, Lions members, CaringKids Board Directors and CaringKids Volunteers joined us for an inspiring and unforgettable visit to our new toy workshop on 3rd September 2025.
With 1.3 million members world-wide Lions is the largest voluntary service organisation in the world dedicated to serving the needs of communities. The Lions in Support of CaringKids project is an Australian Lions national project. To date more than 250 clubs have sponsored Joy Boxes for young carers across Australia.
We thank IP AP Singh and PID Sangeeta Raita for their encouragement and support of our project and to all the Lions and Leo’s Clubs across Australia who make it possible for us to bring joy to young carers.

National Carers Week approaches this October
As National Carers Week approaches this October, we are calling on the compassion and generosity of our Lions community to help recognise some of Australia’s most remarkable young people — our young carers.
Across the country, more than 300,000 young Australians provide daily care for family members living with disability, chronic illness, mental health conditions, or substance dependency. Many care for siblings, parents, or grandparents, often with little recognition or support — and for those in rural and regional communities, services can be especially limited.
For this October Carers Week, we invite every Lions Club in Australia to sponsor a Joy Box — a simple yet powerful way to show young carers that their efforts are seen, valued, and appreciated. Donate now and our young carers will get their Joy Boxes during October.
